Calculation methodology
Assumption: 70% time saving
The calculator assumes that coding and reporting time falls by 70%, because the inspector confirms the findings the AI proposes instead of coding the whole video. This is the calculator’s assumption, not a measurement. What is measured is the analysis speed: a 67-second video was analysed on the production server in 45 seconds.
AI quality: measured, not promised
The calculator does not assume the AI is infallible. In our measurement (9/2026, 34 videos the model never saw) the defect family was right on 60% of findings and the AI produced a finding at 69% of the defect spots an inspector had marked. An inspector confirms every finding before the report goes out.
Cost basis
The default rate of €65/h is an example. Replace it with your own hourly cost. For Pipelytica’s cost the calculator uses the €19/month base fee and €9 for each analysis beyond the five included each month.
Standards
Findings are coded with EN 13508-2 classification codes (visual inspection of sewers), and the inspector confirms every code.
